Garry Scott Elevator is a manufacturer and supplier of elevator Safety Products. We currently design and manufacture signage for all elevator needs as well as manufacture the Pit Sentry™ shoring device.
Signage
Garry Scott Elevator Company uses a 42″ printer to configure all of it’s signage needs. Each sigh is manufactured using UV colored ink that is resistant to the sun’s rays to protect it from fading. The sign is then printed on special paper that is resistant to water and/or oil damage with an adhesive backing so that it can be mounted anywhere. You may choose to have the signage as is or mounted on a piece of aluminum to enhance the durability. Each sign is then carefully covered with a special clear adhesive to protect it from the elements. Our signage can be used indoors or outdoors in all weather conditions.
What is the Pit Sentry™
The Pit Sentry™ is a shoring device permanently installed in the elevator pit to protect service personnel. The Pit Sentry™ , strong through the upright pillar, physically prevents an elevating device from entering the refuge area which includes an area above the lowest sill. This provides a safe entry from the pit area at all times.
The Pit Sentry™ is built to suit varying pit depths and configurations, as well as, car capacities.
The Pit Sentry™ is always able to be deployed and restored from outside the pit, eliminating the need for service personnel to enter the pit without being protected.
All pit depths, equipment configuration and hoistway clearances are capable of being dealt with through the Pit Sentry™ concept. Pit depths, providing minimal under car clearances, such as materials or lifts for the disabled, dumbwaiters or full fledged elevators with pit depths of four feet or more.
What Else Can the Pit Sentry™ Do?
The Pit Sentry™ is not only a shoring device but may also be assembled as a ladder where other means or conditions may not provide reasonable entrance and egress conditions.
Pit Sentry™ as a ladder provides toe clearances well in excess of NBC requirements for access ladders.
When deployment of the Pit Sentry™ is initiated the power is cut to the elevator through an electrical interface with the car safety circuit.
Overall
Garry Scott has developed the Pit Sentry™, a pillar for safety, to protect personnel in the elevator shaft under the car in a way that is safe to deploy from outside the pit.
